It’s a BIG Birthday year for me and I want to do something very special. I recently watched David Attenborough’s Dynasties and saw the pumas in Patagonia. I instantly knew it was something I had to do. From that seed of an idea our trip was born.
What I did not know is that you cannot fly directly between Argentina and Chile, which made trip planning tricky to say the least. There was limited availability and we did not think we could fit everything together at such short notice. We owe a huge thank-you to Peter at ‘Swoop Patagonia’ who had great knowledge and managed to pull it all together.
We shall start in Buenos Aires, Argentina and fly down to Ushuaia to pick up a cruise through the Beagle Channel, visiting Cape Horn (weather permitting) and on to Punta Arenas. Then we visit Torres del Paine in Chile for the pumas and spectacular scenery, followed by some downtime in Puerto Natales and Puerto Montt. We then have a week fishing on a remote and vast estancia near Coyhaique.
I am very excited indeed!
